Backflow & Thermostatic Mixing Valve Testing

Backflow & Thermostatic Mixing Valve Testing

SunCity Hot Water Plumbing have licensed Backflow valve testers available to test & repair all types of backflow valves from all approved manufacturers.

We can install new RPZ valves in your new or existing buildings as well.

Backflow prevention devices (RPV valves) are installed in all water systems to prevent the chance of contaminated water finding its way back into the water system, especially where underground tanks & irrigation products are installed. There are two causes of backflow:

1/ Back pressure

2/ Back syphonage.

Back pressure results from water on a premised developing a greater pressure than the incoming supply, forcing potentially contaminated water from the premises into the potable water supply.

Back syphonage results from a sudden and serious loss of pressure in the main water supply. This can be caused by a burst water main, council maintenance on street water mains or use of a hydrant for fire fighting purposes, syphoning water and contaminants back into the potable water supply. Therefore, it can cause serious health problems throughout the use of plumbing fixtures & human consumption.

Back Flow Prevention valves must be installed in all water systems to prevent the chance of contaminated water finding its way back into the potable water system in accordance with AS3500.1:2003 as well as the manufacturers specifications and any local and state authority regulations. All devices must be installed, tested and inspected by qualified tradespeople on a annual basis & from submitted to local councils.

We also do Thermostatic mixing valves repairs & testings, once again we’ve got all the approved brands for the Australian market covered.
